Day 200/365 - Willow's ice pop

Red like the blossoming of that first summer rose, the color of your children’s lips after they have licked a dripping cherry ice pop in the afternoon’s summer sun. Red is the color for fun and rainbows, streamers and apples that are so crisp you can feel that bite explode in your mouth.

Red is also the color of anger, and violence, fighting, burning fire, red is hate and shame, a darker red, crimson, dead roses, blood, dripping from your veins when you have tried to slice your veins open, up and down, and across and still failed. Red is flames, red is fury.

pink roses

I saw blood, soaked, rags

flint made, exploding anger

Couple burst in flames.

The last page written

in smudged charcoal,  painter’s ink

news, her last good-bye.

***

Into the dark night

a bird whistle blows softly

Red and black beak cry.

***

A blush of pink rose

Happy Valentine’s Day, love

Just let me whisper.

Haiku Heights – Storm

Inside turmoil spins

I want a piece from two worlds

Red: Life. Gray: Shelter

*****

Ocean waves explode

I am insignificant

Take me over, please

*****

Red rage, fury, fire

bolting out the hostile door

releasing the storm.

*****

Ice cascades through snow

the beauty of pureness, white

black ice underneath

*****

Snow fighting ice, wind

Let’s huddle together now

to seek warmth, safety.
