Remeber the days before you got the Internet at home? See all answers

  • Before the Internet
  • Those WERE The Days….
There were many hours of reading books and talking on the telephone with friends. The telephone that was usually a putrid yellow or green color and placed in the kitchen. It had a handle and a curled up, dirty, elastic cord that was attached to the phone handle. You had to actually pick up the handle and say “Hello?”
If I wanted to write poetry, I would grab a yellow lined pad of paper or if I got fancy I would type it up on my manual typewriter. Now that I think of it kids of this generation probably don’t even know what “Liquid Paper” even was. That white, sticky paint you would cover typos with, wait for it to dry, (oh, that was the tricky part!) and retype.
Before the Internet you had to proof-read your own work, and a typo like “REMEBER” would rarely exist. (Hint, Hint) On the other hand, where we would be today without the advent of LOL, ROFL and the wonderful smiley face emoticon! 🙂
